Explore our high-precision structural hollow sections, galvanized pipes, and industrial tubing. Sourced globally, engineered to comply with ISO 9001, ASTM, EN, and BS structural protocols.
In the modern era of civil engineering, procurement directors and global supply chain strategists face unprecedented pressures. Project lead times are shrinking, regulatory compliance is hardening, and material yield demands have reached historical highs. Sourcing structural products from China is no longer merely a pricing strategy; it is a critical calculation of metallurgical stability, manufacturing precision, and logistics agility. Global developers and engineering consortia demand components that can survive harsh corrosivity classes (C3 to C5-I/M) while delivering reliable mechanical properties over design lifespans exceeding 50 years.
Structural hollow sections (RHS, SHS, CHS) and galvanized steel tubes form the skeletal framework of our cities, solar farms, greenhouses, and maritime installations. When procuring these elements, purchasing agents must evaluate not only nominal dimensions but also the raw coil quality, weld seam integrity, and galvanization profiles. This white paper highlights how Tianjin Minjie Steel Co., Ltd. addresses these concerns with state-of-the-art ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) lines, advanced hot-dip zinc-coating plants, and structural fabrications designed to conform strictly to global directives.

Established in 1998, Tianjin Minjie Steel Co., Ltd. has spent over two and a half decades perfecting its industrial steel pipe production line. Our corporate campus spans over 70,000 square meters and is strategically located in Tianjin, a city recognized as China's northern metal-industrial capital. Our facility is situated just 40 kilometers from XinGang Port—the largest deep-water seaport in northern China—providing logistical advantages that translate directly into reduced transit times and minimized shipping costs for our global partners.
As an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer and exporter, Minjie operates a diverse fabrication portfolio. This includes 4 pre-galvanized pipe production lines, 8 ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) steel pipe lines, and 3 state-of-the-art hot-dipped galvanized process lines. Our engineering laboratory conducts continuous mechanical testing (tensile strength, yield point, elongation, flattening, and bending trials) and chemical composition checks to ensure that each shipment meets international structural codes.
Infrastructure longevity depends heavily on the joints and connections in the structural frame. High-load environments demand joining methodologies that speed up installation while preserving mechanical integrity and corrosion-resistant profiles. To address these industry requirements, Minjie Steel has invested in R&D to develop proprietary connection designs. Our company has applied for and received 3 structural piping patents: Groove Pipe, Shoulder Pipe, and Victaulic Pipe systems.
These patented systems are designed to eliminate the need for hot-work welding on job sites. On-site welding can destroy local zinc coatings, leaving joints susceptible to localized galvanic corrosion. By using Minjie’s grooved and shouldered ends, engineering teams can configure fluid transmission pipelines and heavy structural frameworks in half the standard installation time. The self-aligning groove profiles maintain structural load capacities while supporting angular deflection and thermal expansion tolerances.
Specifically rolled grooved ends for mechanical coupling connections. Offers rapid assembly and disassembly for high-pressure fluid networks and modular construction systems.
Features reinforced steel shoulder bands welded near the pipe ends, providing a heavy-duty seat for coupling housings. Optimized for mining, irrigation, and bypass pumping applications.
Conforms with global Victaulic structural profiles to ensure interchangeability with existing distribution manifolds and fire suppression setups without site alterations.
Steel in atmospheric or subterranean environments degrades through oxidation. To stop the formation of hydrated iron oxides (rust), we utilize multi-layered zinc defenses. Minjie Steel employs both pre-galvanization and hot-dip galvanization processes. Pre-galvanized pipes use steel coils that are zinc-coated in a continuous processing line before profiling and welding. These products provide clean, uniform surfaces ideal for light structural and interior applications, such as retail fittings, indoor agricultural fencing, and light machinery frames.
For highly corrosive applications, such as marine structures, chemical processing plants, and outdoor utility networks, our Hot-Dip Galvanized (HDG) pipes are the preferred choice. These steel pipes are fully submerged in a molten zinc bath at approximately 450°C (842°F). This thermal bath creates a metallurgical bond between the zinc and steel, forming a series of zinc-iron alloy layers topped by a pure outer zinc layer. The resulting coating acts as both a physical barrier and a sacrificial anode, meaning the zinc will corrode to protect the underlying structural steel.
Removes organic oils, grease, and mill scale from the pipe surface, preparing the bare steel for acid pickling.
Cleans oxides and rust from the pipe's internal and external surfaces to expose clean, unreacted iron.
Applies a protective salt layer that prevents oxidation before hot-dipping and aids the zinc bonding process.
The pipes are submerged in molten zinc, creating a protective zinc-iron alloy layer with a coating weight exceeding 500g/m².

The difference lies in the method of coating and the resulting zinc layer thickness. Pre-galvanized steel pipe is formed from steel sheet that is continuously zinc-coated before roll-forming. It features a thin coating (typically 60g/m² to 120g/m²), resulting in a smooth finish ideal for indoor applications or dry agricultural structures. Hot-dip galvanized (HDG) pipe is fabricated first, then submerged in a molten zinc bath. This creates a thicker layer of zinc-iron alloys (often 300g/m² to 600g/m²), protecting both the interior and exterior of the pipe. HDG is recommended for high-humidity, outdoor, and heavy industrial environments.
EN 10219 governs cold-formed welded structural hollow sections of non-alloy and fine grain steels. It focuses on dimensional tolerances, cross-sectional properties, and carbon equivalent values to ensure weldability and yield strengths (e.g., S235JRH, S355J2H). ASTM A53 is a standard specification for pipe, steel, black and hot-dipped, zinc-coated, welded, and seamless. ASTM A53 is commonly used for mechanical, pressure, and low-pressure piping applications, whereas EN 10219 is specifically a structural specification.
Minjie's patented connection profiles eliminate the need for site welding. On-site welding requires specialized technicians, increases installation times, and damages the protective zinc coating. Our pre-grooved and shouldered ends allow for secure mechanical coupling. This speeds up assembly, accommodates structural movement, and prevents galvanic corrosion at the joints, making them suitable for temporary scaffolding, high-pressure piping, and modular frames.
Minjie’s factory is located just 40 kilometers from XinGang Port (Tianjin), North China’s largest deep-water port. This proximity minimizes inland trucking distances and costs. It also reduces handling risks, shortens lead times, and allows for direct loading of bulk shipments, lowering shipping costs for international buyers.
Our scaffolding pipes are manufactured in compliance with EN 39 and BS 1139 standards. These standards specify precise outer diameters (typically 48.3mm), wall thicknesses (3.2mm or 4.0mm), carbon equivalent parameters, and yield strengths. Our scaffolding products undergo flattening and bending tests to ensure safety under load on high-elevation construction sites.
Zinc coating thickness is measured in grams per square meter (g/m²) or microns (µm). For example, a coating of 500g/m² translates to approximately 70µm of thickness. According to ISO 14713, the corrosion rate of zinc in a C3 (urban/industrial) environment ranges from 0.7 to 2.1µm per year. A 70µm coating will therefore provide decades of protection before the underlying steel begins to rust.
