For structural hollow sections, performance depends heavily on geometrical accuracy and steel chemistry. Unlike standard piping used for fluid transport, Square Structural Hollow Sections (SHS) are designed for compressive loads, torsional stress, and bending moments.

A key factor in fabricating high-strength square tubes is controlling the external corner radius (C1/C2). According to EN 10219, the outer corner radius must not exceed:

Metallurgical Chemistry and Weldability

To ensure stable welding in the field, we control the Carbon Equivalent Value (CEV) of our steel alloys. Our Q355B and S355J2H grades are formulated with a CEV ≤ 0.45%, allowing easy welding without the need for pre-heating under normal environmental conditions:

1. What is the difference between pre-galvanized and hot-dip galvanized square tubes?
Pre-galvanized square tubes are formed from steel sheets that have already been galvanized at the mill. This results in a smooth, clean surface with a zinc coating thickness of about 40 to 120 g/m². Hot-dip galvanized (HDG) tubes are fabricated from raw hot-rolled steel first, then dipped into a molten zinc bath. This creates a much thicker zinc coating (typically 300 to 500 g/m² or 40 to 70 microns) that offers better protection for outdoor and maritime applications.
2. How does Tianjin Minjie Steel ensure square tube dimensional tolerances?

Yes, we provide full OEM/ODM services. Our factory has 3D CNC laser profiling machines and hydraulic punching presses that can drill, slot, and cut profiles to specified lengths (from 4m to 12m). We pack bundles with steel strapping, woven outer sheets, or custom configurations for maritime container shipping.
5. What is the typical lead time for shipping from Xingang Port, China?
Standard size profiles are often in stock and ready to ship within 7 to 10 days. For custom manufacturing orders (specific steel grades, thicknesses, or specialized coatings), our average production time is 20 to 30 days.
