The difference lies in their mechanical yield strengths. Q235 steel has a yield strength of 235 MPa and is widely used for light structural frames, transmission towers, and general construction. Q345 steel has a higher yield strength of 345 MPa, making it suitable for heavy structural framing, high-rise buildings, and projects with high structural load requirements.
Z275 indicates a zinc coating weight of 275 grams per square meter (covering both sides of the sheet). This protective layer isolates the underlying carbon steel from moisture and oxygen, preventing corrosion. Additionally, the zinc provides galvanic protection, corroding sacrificially to protect the structural steel if the surface is scratched or cut.
