What is the difference in corrosion protection between pre-galvanized and hot-dip galvanized (HDG) steel pipes?
Pre-galvanized steel pipes are manufactured from steel strips that have already been zinc-coated through a continuous galvanizing line, resulting in a clean finish with a zinc layer typically between 60 to 120 g/m². This is ideal for indoor structures, greenhouses, and mild conditions. Hot-dip galvanized (HDG) pipes are fabricated from raw black steel and then fully immersed in molten zinc, achieving a much thicker and more complete zinc layer (typically 300 to 600 g/m²) that protects the interior weld seam. HDG is highly recommended for outdoor, industrial, or high-humidity applications.
How does Tianjin Minjie verify weld integrity in ERW and SSAW pipe structures?
We use a multi-step quality control process. During high-frequency welding, on-line ultrasonic testing monitors weld quality in real time. Following forming, pipes undergo hydrostatic pressure testing and non-destructive electromagnetic testing (ET). Destructive mechanical testing—including tensile, flattening, and bending tests—is also performed on batch samples in our facility to verify compliance with ASTM, EN, and GB specifications.
What customization options are available for the patented groove, shoulder, and victaulic connection systems?
We can customize pipeline connections to meet specific project needs. Grooved ends are machined to match standard coupling specifications (such as AWWA C606). Shoulder and victaulic endings can be configured for different outer diameters, wall thicknesses, and high-pressure applications. These systems are available across our entire steel pipe line, including pre-galvanized, hot-dip galvanized, and powder-coated pipes.
