Premium structural shapes manufactured in compliance with international engineering specifications.
A deep dive into structural design parameters, loading physics, and chemical characteristics of steel angles.
Structural steel angles, also referred to as L-shaped profiles, represent one of the most widely deployed structural shapes globally. Featuring two perpendicular flanges, steel angles provide bidirectional bending resistance, high torsional stiffness under structural restraints, and exceptional axial load support in braced frames.
Tianjin Minjie manufactures both Equal Angle Steel (where both flanges are of identical width) and Unequal Angle Steel (where flanges differ in width). In unequal configurations, the mechanical properties on the major and minor axes are optimized to resist asymmetric loading, commonly required in power transmission towers, bridge trusses, and modular marine applications.
From a metallurgical perspective, our products adhere closely to standards like ASTM A36, SS400, Q235B, Q345B (S355), and EN 10025 S275JR. By managing the carbon equivalent (CEV) during the initial casting and billet processing, we guarantee exceptional weldability and field formability while maintaining high yield strengths.
Understanding structural limits is critical to preventing buckling or fatigue failure in commercial designs. Here is a summary of standard mechanical parameters:
| Steel Grade Standard | Yield Strength (Min MPa) | Tensile Strength (MPa) | Elongation (Min %) | Carbon Content (Max %) | Primary Target Applications |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Q235B (GB/T 700) | 235 | 370 - 500 | 26% | 0.20% | Structural framing, greenhouse frameworks, mechanical components |
| ASTM A36 | 250 | 400 - 550 | 23% | 0.25% | General construction, engineering machinery, bolted structural plates |
| SS400 (JIS G3101) | 245 | 400 - 510 | 21% | 0.22% | Steel towers, industrial racking systems, railway brackets |
| S355JR (EN 10025-2) | 355 | 470 - 630 | 22% | 0.24% | Heavy-duty structures, bridge columns, high-wind solar mounts |
Combining automation, multi-stage hot rolling, and advanced hot-dip galvanization lines for absolute reliability.
Our mills utilize continuous rolling processes that ensure precise dimensional tolerances and structural uniformity. Controlled thermomechanical rolling refines the grain size, enhancing impact toughness at low temperatures.
Equipped with 3 hot-dipped galvanizing lines, we apply thick, uniform zinc coatings (up to 85μm or 600g/m²) to protect steel angles in marine and high-humidity environments, meeting international standard specifications.
With three major structural patents—including specialized groove pipes, shoulder pipes, and victaulic pipes—Tianjin Minjie continues to pioneer modular steel piping systems and connection accessories.
Established in 1998, Tianjin Minjie Steel Co., Ltd has developed into a major modern manufacturing and export base. Spanning over 70,000 square meters, our facilities are strategically located only 40 kilometers from XinGang Port—the primary maritime shipping hub in Northern China.
Our production fleet is designed for scale and quality, featuring 4 pre-galvanized product lines, 8 ERW steel pipe lines, and 3 hot-dipped galvanized process lines. By utilizing these resources, we maintain an annual output capacity exceeding 300,000 metric tons, supplying premium steel angles, pipes, tubes, and scaffolding elements worldwide.
Aligning structural steel production with decarbonization targets, green metallurgy, and smart automation.
As international regulations prioritize low-carbon steel production, Tianjin Minjie is actively optimizing its energy footprint. Our roadmap includes transitioning our steel heating furnaces to clean natural gas and hydrogen-blend systems, reducing primary greenhouse gas emissions during structural profile extrusion.
We are also collaborating with major Chinese domestic steel mills to source low-carbon billets and steel plates produced via Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) technologies using recycled scrap metals. This approach aligns our products with the stringent environmental standards required for sustainable building certifications worldwide.
Traditional hot-dip galvanization is evolving. In response, we are introducing Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium (ZAM) coating options. ZAM coatings provide up to four times the corrosion resistance of traditional galvanized layers under high-chloride and ammonia environments, offering self-healing edge protection that is ideal for solar racking designs, agricultural facilities, and coastal infrastructures.

Tianjin Minjie's high-quality products and technical consultation have established long-term partnerships in over 60 countries. Below are highlights of client visits and our international cooperation cases:
Visiting Singapore clients in September 2019 to secure steel angle and pipe supply chains for regional infrastructure projects.
Korean structural designers visited in 2019 to develop customized structural frames using our hot-dipped steel products.
Long-term Australian clients visited our factory in November 2018 to confirm structural quality standards for heavy agricultural machinery frames.
Indian procurement managers chose Tianjin Minjie for high-volume structural projects, signing regular bulk container orders.
In June 2017, a Lebanese engineering partner visited and placed bulk orders for 1,000+ tons of structural steel pipes and sections.
Following initial Canton Fair meetings in 2018, our Saudi partners established a consistent supply route for high-wind solar frame structures.
Tianjin Minjie participates in the Canton Fair annually. Our exhibits showcase the latest in galvanized structural profiles, pipes, and scaffolding. A large proportion of our clients establish trust during these exhibitions, subsequent to which approximately 80% arrange on-site inspections at our main Tianjin facilities.
Our team continuously engages with global engineering partners, ensuring our product configurations match specific local construction codes and performance requirements.
Our quality system is verified under ISO 9001 and certified to meet ASTM, DIN, EN, and JIS standards.
To meet the strict technical requirements of modern infrastructure, Tianjin Minjie Steel operates under a comprehensive quality management system certified to ISO 9001:2015.
Every production run undergoes strict quality control, including chemical composition verification via spectrographic analysis, mechanical pull tests to determine yield and tensile points, and non-destructive eddy current tests on welded hollow sections.
Our hot-dip galvanization is conducted under strict environmental controls, ensuring even zinc distribution that prevents premature oxidation along structural joints and weld zones.
